Great news if you were either shut out or priced out of tonight’s sold-out £80 BurgerMonday pop-up with the sensational Umami Burger:
Because chefs Adam Fleischman and John Herndon can’t take any Wagyu short ribs, foie gras, truffles, Port reduction or house-made Umami cheeses back with them to LA they’ve decided to prepare 20-plus extra burgers for takeaway at a special takeaway price.
To grab your Dad’s Slider (£10) or MNO ROYALE  (£40) you’ll need to queue tonight (October 15th) outside Andrew’s (160 Gray’s Inn Road, WC1 – map) , beginning at 9:30pm.
The MNO – “money is no object” – is luxuriously outfitted with a 6-ounce patty of grass-fed Wagyu beef, Port-braised Wagyu short ribs, thick layers of foie gras and truffles, house truffle cheese and a Port reduction. Due to California’s recently imposed ban on foie gras, the off-menu $100 (about £65) sensation is now taboo in its home state. The model served tonight will be the enhanced “Royale” – MNO v 2.0. £40.
Dad’s Slider is no mini-burger: It’s a 5-ounce patty of smashed Jacob’s Ladder mince topped with house-processed Umami Cheddar, onions and pickles. The BurgerMonday London pop-up will mark the world premiere of Umami’s newest burger. £10.
